There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery). - Howard L. Raymond of Cottage Grove died Nov. 24 of cancer at age 87. No service is planned. He was born May 30, 1919, in Drain to Ransom and Anna Wagoner Raymond. He married Shirley La Blue on Aug. 3, 1946, in Bremerton, Wash. Raymond served in the Army Coast Artillery for three years and in the Navy for six years. He worked as a log truck driver, retiring from Georgia-Pacific Co. in 1984. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sherry Goodrick of Cottage Grove; a son, Stephen Raymond of Cottage Grove; two sisters, Lila Lilja and and Uleta Marsh, both of Cottage Grove; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Iris Erickson Iris Modene Erickson of Eugene died Nov. 25 of age-related causes at age 78. She worked for Pacific Northwest Bell Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company provided telephone services in the states of Oregon, Washington, and northern Idaho. Pacific Northwest Bell was created on July 1, 1961, when the Bell telephone operations in northern Idaho, Oregon, and Washington state were split off , later AT&T, as an operator and in other departments, from 1946 to 1983, when she retired. She was born Sept. 21, 1908, in Centralia, Ill., to William and Caroline Schneitzmeier. She married Herman Burcker on Nov. 26, 1930, in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. . He died July 26, 1969. She worked as a secretary for the U.S. Forest Service's Willamette National Forest The Willamette National Forest is a National Forest located in the central portion of the Cascade Range of Oregon, US.[1] It contains 1,675,407 acres (2,618 mi², 6,780 km²) making it one of the largest national forests. . Survivors include a son, Robert of Vancouver, Wash.; two daughters, Judith Mortimore and Carolyn Lueck, both of Eugene; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Dorian Paradis SPRINGFIELD - Dorian R. Paradis of Springfield died Nov. 28 of cancer at age 87. No service is planned. She was born June 4, 1919, in San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden to Edolph and Mabel Johnson Rosenthal. She married Loyal Paradis on May 18, 1952, in Sunnyside, Wash. She was a homemaker. She is survived by a son, Ron of Springfield. Inurnment will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens. No service is planned. Burnham was born May 20, 1936, in Pendleton to Tony and Mabel Dern Burnham. He married Marlene Borup on Sept. 11, 1958, in Eugene. He was a floor covering contractor. Pearl Phillips SPRINGFIELD - Pearl Iva Phillips of Springfield died Nov. 30 of age-related causes at age 100. No service is planned. Phillips was born June 6, 1906, in Hinkley, Minn., to Joseph and Nellie Bowen Hickman. She married Bert Phillips in 1938 in Salem. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Lou Betty Lou is a Muppet from the show Sesame Street. She has blonde braided hair. She is friendly and has many dolls of many ethnicities but she has one favorite which she carries everywhere. Jackson of Springfield and Anabel Bonnichsen of Grand Junction, Colo.; a sister, Maude Miller of Canada; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her husband died previously and a son, William Vasby, died in 2004. Audry Luse COTTAGE GROVE - Audry Leroy Luse of Cottage Grove died Nov. 30 of age-related causes at age 89. He was born July 22, 1917, in Tomahawk tomahawk [from an Algonquian dialect of Virginia], hatchet generally used by Native North Americans as a hand weapon and as a missile. The earliest tomahawks were made of stone, with one edge or two edges sharpened (sometimes the stone was globe shaped). , Wis., to William and Essie Burns Luse. He and his wife, Gloria, were married Oct. 1, 1983, in Reno, Nev. Luse served in the Navy during World War II. He worked as a mechanical contractor in construction. Survivors include his wife; a son, Howard Wysocki of Arizona; and three siblings, Lila Bridgeman and Zelda Stork stork, common name for members of a family of long-legged wading birds. The storks are related to the herons and ibises and are found in most of the warmer parts of the world. , both of Washington and Eileen King of Texas. His wife, Issabell, and a daughter, Audry, died previously.
