Mae Haag

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Harvest Community Church in Eugene for Mae Surcamp Haag of Eugene, who died Oct. 23 of congestive heart failure congestive heart failure, inability of the heart to expel sufficient blood to keep pace with the metabolic demands of the body. In the healthy individual the heart can tolerate large increases of workload for a considerable length of time. . She was 95.

She was born Jan. 1, 1911, in Piqua, Ohio Piqua is a city in Miami County, Ohio, United States. The population was 20,738 at the 2000 census.

Piqua was one of the cities that experienced severe flooding during the Great Dayton Flood of 1913.
, to Edward and Minta Manson Clinefelter. She married Ira Surcamp on Aug. 24, 1929, in Corvallis. He died in 1959. She married Emil Haag on Sept. 25, 1967, in Reno, Nev. He died in 1989.

She was a homemaker and worked for 11 years as a receiving room clerk at the Bon Marche.

Survivors include two sons, Glenn Surcamp of Springfield and Eldon Surcamp of Eugene; nine stepchildren; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A son, Richard Surcamp, and two daughters, Edna Mae Surcamp and Sharon Surcamp, died previously.

Edward Marks

SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the United Presbyterian Church United Presbyterian Church, two denominations of Presbyterianism.

 Marks of Springfield, formerly of Gardiner and Reedsport, who died Nov. 3 of age-related causes. He was 88.

He was born July 28, 1918, in Roseburg to Harry and Mary Cloake Marks. He married Carolyn Winter Schlavin on Feb. 22, 1941, in Toledo.

Marks served in the U.S. Army infantry in the Philippines, Japan and Luzon. He worked at the Gardiner sawmill sawmill, installation or facility in which cut logs are sawed into standard-sized boards and timbers. The saws used in such an installation are generally of three types: the circular saw, which consists of a disk with teeth around its edge; the band saw, which , Umpqua River The Umpqua River (UHMP-kwah) is a river on the Pacific coast of Oregon in the United States, approximately 111 mi (179 km) long. One of the prinicipal rivers of the Oregon coast, it drains an expansive network of valleys in the mountains west of the Cascade Range and south of the  Navigation Company and retired in 1980 from Bohemia.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Anna Reichert of Springfield; a son, Jerry of Beaver Creek Beaver Creek may refer to numerous places, mainly stream and towns. The USGS database records 658 waterways and 19 populated places using the name in the United States and numerous others using related forms like Beaver Creek Ditch, Beaver Creek Swamp, Beaver Creek Lake, Beaver ; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Wanda Hickson

SPRINGFIELD - Wanda Louise Hickson of Springfield died Nov. 1 of age-related causes at age 77.

She was born June 22, 1929, in Eugene to Clement and Mildred Hughes Cummins. She married Wayne Hickson on April 21, 1970, in Reno, Nev. He died Dec. 27, 2003.

She was an administrative assistant at the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities.  until 1985, when she retired.

Survivors include four daughters, Teresa Forshay of Dickson, Tenn., and Paula Jones

, Robin McDonald and Kathleen McCoy, all of Springfield; a son, Randall of Salem; four siblings, Connie Cummins of Springfield, Mildred Cummins of Bend, Delano Cummins of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Richard Cummins of Crow; and 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grand- children.

Rosa Hayes

ELMIRA - Rosa Lee C. Hayes of Elmira died Nov. 3 of age-related causes. She was 79. No service is planned.

She was born March 23, 1927, in Monterey, Calif., to Charles and Mabel John White. She married Everett Hayes in Redding Redding, city (1990 pop. 66,462), seat of Shasta co., N central Calif., on the Sacramento River; inc. 1872. A principal tourist center for a mountain and lake region, it also has lumbering, food-processing, and diverse manufacturing. , Calif., in 1965. He died in 1970.

She was born Aug. 22, 1930, in Roseburg to Donald and Nancy Radabaugh. She married Clyde Joiner on Aug. 12, 1951.

She was a registered medical technician and a homemaker.

Mildred Babcock

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Creswell Presbyterian Church for Mildred Francis Babcock of Eugene, who died Oct. 31 of age-related causes. She was 77. Following the service, a reception be held at 2 p.m. at the VFW Hall in Creswell.

She was born June 29, 1929, in Somerton, Ariz., to Frank and Alto Poats DeBerry. She married Floyd Babcock in Eugene on Feb. 1, 1946. He died in November 2002.

She was a teacher in the Creswell, Springfield and La Pine school districts and at Central Oregon Community College's outreach center in La Pine.

Survivors include four sons, Frank of North Bend, Norman of Eugene, Forrest of Sisters and David of Elmira; a sister, Ethel Hinkle of Yuma, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.

Wylin Reigel

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at Fairfield Nazarene Church in Eugene for Wylin "Bill" Reigel of Eugene, who died Oct. 27 of brain cancer at age 71.

He was born Nov. 12, 1934, in Ashland to George and Helen Madden Reigel. He married Marcia Nichols on Oct. 18, 1986, in Eugene.

Reigel served in the Navy until 1955. He worked as a freight conductor for Southern Pacific and Union Pacific railroads from 1955 to 1999.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jackie Scioli of Clovis, N.M.; a son, Randal of Sparks, Nev.; three stepsons, Brent Nichols of Madrid, Spain, and Brian Nichols and Brad Nichols, both of Eugene; a brother, Richard of Bellingham, Wash.; a stepsister, Linda Perry of Roseburg; and eight grandchildren and one great-grand- child.

Betty Oksenholt

COTTAGE GROVE - Betty J. Oksenholt of Cottage Grove died Nov. 4 of age-related causes. She was 91. No service is planned.

She was born Nov. 23, 1914, in Crown Point, N.Y., to Jabra and Bertha Moses Baroudi. She married Erling Oksenholt on July 31, 1946, in San Francisco.

She taught for eight years in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, at the Commercial College and privately tutored the family of Emperor Haile Selassie.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Erling Oksenholt Jr. and Robert Oksenholt, both of Lincoln City; a daughter, Bertha Woolever of Cottage Grove; a brother, Daniel Baroudi of West Palm Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Private burial was at Silk Creek Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Rest-Haven Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene for Dorothea M. "Dottie" Hager of Eugene, who died Nov. 2 of age-related causes. She was 82.

She was born Jan. 28, 1924, in Belleville, Kan., to Donald and Agnes Vishnefski Dunback.

Burial will be at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene.
