Paul Helms

SPRINGFIELD - Paul E. Helms of Springfield died April 6 of cancer at age 84. No service is planned.

He was born May 21, 1921, in Kansas, to Lewis and Erma Yapel Helms. He married Betty Hester Hazel Elizabeth "Betty" Hester (1923 - 1998) was an American correspondent of influential twentieth-century writers, including Flannery O'Connor and Iris Murdoch. [1]  on Nov. 4, 1946. He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater Pacific Theater or Pacific Theatre may refer to

Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve; a daughter, Laura Ames; a brother, Roy of Veneta; a sister, Joyce Ditto; and two grandchildren.

Joyce Pickett

She was born April 14, 1924, in Pocatello, Idaho Pocatello (IPA: [po kə tɛ lo]) is the county seat and largest city of Bannock CountyGR6 , to John and Pearl Warning.

She married John Pickett John A. Pickett is arguably the best french horn player EVER!  on Jan. 5, 1943, in Pocatello. She was a folk artist.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Linda Queener and H. Marie Pickett-Bailey; a son, Jim; a brother, Vic Warning; a sister, Helen Lenon; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Private inurnment will be in West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 10, at North Eugene Faith Center, for Patsy Jean "Pat" Carlson of Albany, formerly of Florence. She died April 3 of age-related causes at age 79.

She was born May 13, 1926, in Marlow, Okla., to William and Ella Smith Ella Smith may refer to:

She married Frank Carlson Frank Carlson (January 23, 1893-May 30, 1987) was an American politician who served as thirtieth Governor of Kansas and United States Representative and Senator from Kansas.  on Jan. 4, 1945, in Bakersfield, Calif. She worked as a census-taker for Lane County, installed wiring in airplanes during World War II and was a seasonal postal service worker.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Jerry, Michael and Christopher; two daughters, Katherine Nixon and Carol Schmidt; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was born Oct. 20, 1918, in Cummings, N.D., to George and Bertha Carver Burnett. She married Irvin Lang on Aug. 22, 1942, in Detroit, Mich.

She had worked as a journalist, editing various newspapers and publications, including 11 years for the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities. , retiring in 1982.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Kelsay; a son, Michael; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her husband died previously.

Joan Blum

A private memorial service was held April 4 for Joan Ruth Blum of Eugene, who died April 3 of causes related to an infection at age 60.

She was born Sept. 7, 1945, in York, Neb., to Paul and Esther Heine Sackschewsky. She married Gene Blum on Feb. 7, 1964, in Thayer, Neb.

She worked as a certified surgical technologist at McKenzie-Willamette Hospital until her retirement in 2005, and previously was a secretary.

Survivors include her husband; her mother, Esther Sackschewsky; two daughters, Christine Connelly and Wendy Blum; four sisters, Lorretta Dollan, Mary Watson, Ramona Watson and Merna Driewer; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held later in Nebraska. Arrangements by All Cremation Services in Eugene.

Harold Hoellig

PLEASANT HILL - A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 10, at Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield for Harold John Hoellig of Pleasant Hill, who died April 2 of age-related causes at age 81.

He was born Oct. 12, 1924, in Los Angeles, to Joseph and Anna Schilling Hoellig. He married Wilma Leaton on Oct. 2, 1988, in Fall Creek. He had served in the Navy and worked as an electrician for the City of Los Angeles

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carol Hayden; and three grandchildren. His first wife, Jeanette Hoellig, died in 1987.

Private burial will be in Springfield Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Major Family Funeral Home.

Anna Bunyan

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today, April 8, at McHenry Funeral Home in Corvallis, for Anna Elizabeth Bunyan of Corvallis, formerly of Eugene, who died April 6 of age-related causes at age 108. The funeral and burial will be in Ottawa, Kan.

She was born March 21, 1898, in Ottawa, Kan., to Jared and Roccina Brooks Parker.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Taylor, eight grandchildren, 13 great-grand- children and two great-great- grandchildren.

Cleo Tapp

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. today, April 8, for Cleo E. Tapp of Eugene, who died April 4 of heart failure at age 89.

She was born June 21, 1916, in Yakima, Wash., to Arthur and Edith Coleman Busey. She married E.M. "Bob" Flanders in 1933 in Ellensburg, Wash., and they divorced in 1944. She married Wesley Tapp in 1952 in Yakima. He died in 1994. She had worked as a school cook and apartment manager in San Jose, Calif.

Survivors include a daughter, Jo-Anne Flanders; two sons, Paul Tapp and Steven Tapp; eight grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. A granddaughter, Heather Ford, died previously.
