Ronald "Buz" Maddux

The funeral will be Feb. 21 for Ronald "Buz" Irvin Maddux of Eugene, who died Feb. 18 at age 53. The family chose not to list the cause of death.

Maddux was born Nov. 11, 1952, in Eugene to Irvin and Alice Emery Maddux. He married Susamma "Susie" Chacko in Kottayam, India, on July 14, 1979.

He graduated from Churchill High School and later served in the Army. He was employed as a building contractor building contractor ncontratista m/f de obras

Maddux enjoyed swimming, fishing, motorcycling, music and spending time "Spending Time" is the first single released by Christian artist Stellar Kart.

The lyrics describe the band members desire to spend "more time with God". "Sometimes it’s a real struggle to spend time with God.

Survivors include his wife; his parents; a son, Rajan "Buz" of Eugene; a daughter, Jogi Maddux-Thomas of Philadelphia; two sisters, Jacquelyn Gann of Eugene and Sharon Hill of Albany; and one grandchild.

Tuesday's service will be at 1 p.m. at Calvary Open Bible in Springfield. Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.

Helen Brownfield

A memorial service will be held Feb. 22 for Helen E. Brownfield of Eugene, who died Feb. 17 of age-related causes. She was 87.

Brownfield was born June 15, 1918, in Eugene to Homer and Ethel Bray. She married Grant Brownfield on Sept. 30, 1935, in Eugene. He died in 1986.

She worked as an air guard warden during World War II. She and her husband owned and operated the L & L Market on Willamette Street in Eugene for many years. She also worked as a nurse's aide nurse's aide

Wednesday's service will be at 1 p.m. at Friendly Street Church of God. England's Eugene Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Dale Crocker

Dale Crocker of Eugene died Feb. 18 of cancer. She was 64.

She was born Aug. 18, 1941, in Alexandria, Va., to Leland and Doris Syphers Weadon. She married Robert Crocker in Encino, Calif., on May 5, 1961.

Crocker lived in Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country, , Calif., for 33 years, moving to Eugene in August 2005. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, travel, painting, cooking and reading.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Cindy Smith of Eugene and Cathy Crawford of Bremerton, Wash.; and three grandchildren.

No service is planned. Musgrove Family Mortuary of Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

Steven Gilbert

A memorial service will be held Feb. 23 for Steven Ross Gilbert of Eugene, who died Feb. 17 of heart-related causes. He was 54.

He was born April 3, 1951, in Eugene to Robert and Shirley McCoy Gilbert. He was a lifelong Eugene resident. He and his wife, Patsy, were married for 35 years.

Gilbert was an avid NASCAR NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing), organization that sanctions American stock-car races, est. 1948. It held its first race in Daytona Beach, Fla.  fan. His family will remember him for greeting everyone with a smile and a joke. His favorite topic was his children.

Survivors include two children; a granddaughter; his mother; and two brothers, Jim and Bob.

Thursday's service will be at 3 p.m. at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
