OBITUARIES.Byline: The Register-Guard Tina Bechtel SPRINGFIELD - The funeral will be Jan. 4 for Tina Elizabeth Bechtel of Springfield, who died Dec. 29 of age-related causes. She was 99. She married Wesley William Bechtel William Bechtel is a professor of Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy and the Science Studies Program at the University of California, San Diego. He was a Professor of Philosophy at Washington University in St. Louis from 1994 until 2002[1]. in Fort Dodge, Iowa Fort Dodge is a city and county seat of Webster County, Iowa, United States, situated on the Des Moines River. The population was 25,136 at the 2000 census. Fort Dodge is a major commercial center for North Central and Northwest Iowa. It is located on U.S. Routes 20 and 169. , on Dec. 7, 1924. He died April 16, 1988. Bechtel lived in Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri and in Springfield since 1961. She owned and operated a restaurant in Hastings, Neb. A son, Melvin Bechtel, died pre- viously. Wednesday's service will be at 1 p.m. at Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield. A private burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Lois Bowman SPRINGFIELD - Lois Bowman of Springfield died Dec. 27 of age-related causes. She was 84. Bowman was born April 19, 1921, in Owanka, S.D., to James and Mary Nachtigall Champion. She married Harold "Bud" Bowman in Chadron, Neb., on June 4, 1939. He died in 1995. She enjoyed knitting, gardening and backyard birding. Survivors include a son, Jerry Bowman of Springfield; a daughter, Judy Bowman of Springfield; three brother, Arthur Champion of Farmington, Minn., Paul Champion of Rapid City, S.D., and Richard Champion Richard Champion (born April 14, 1968 in Kadina, South Australia) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. Originally from the Woodville Football Club in South Australia, Champion was a high draft pick by the Brisbane Bears, considered an of Roseburg; four sisters, Betty Baier of Vermillion, S.D. , Opal Warner of Richfield, Minn., Myrthe Cox of Saginaw, Mich. and Maryarett McClure of Rapid City; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. A son, Tom Bauman, died previously. Springer and Son Funeral Home in Portland is in charge of arrangements. Helen Schilling A memorial service will be held Jan. 5 for Helen D. Schilling of Eugene, who died Dec. 15 of heart failure. She was 89. Schilling was born Sept. 26, 1916, in Agenda, Kan., to Arthur and Nellie Madden. She married Harvey Merritt Schilling in 1946. He died in 1971. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Eugene. Survivors include two sons, Wylin Reigel of Eugene and Richard Reigel of Bellingham, Wash.; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She previously married Theodore Fisher, who died March 25, 1958. She had lived in Eugene for 75 years and graduated from Eugene High School and Eugene Bible College A Bible college is an institution of higher education in which the course of study specializes in biblical studies. This curriculum differs from the focus on academic programs of Christian liberal arts colleges or research universities, which may include, but are not limited to, . She also had lived in Vanport, Ore., in 1948. She was a homemaker and ran her own ironing business. Survivors include a son, Ron Fisher of Eugene; two daughters, Marilyn Fisher Polk and Alice Christianson Scott, both of Eugene; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Christianson enjoyed reading, baking, dancing, travel and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grand-children. She belonged to Victory Tabernacle Tabernacle (tăb`ərnăk'əl), in the Bible, the portable holy place of the Hebrews during their desert wanderings. It was a tent, like the portable tent-shrines used by ancient Semites, set up in each camp; eventually it housed the Ark Church.
