Byline: The Register-Guard

Marcel Plourde Jr.

A memorial service will be Dec. 13 for Marcel "Butch" Plourde Jr. of Eugene, who died Dec. 8 of an aneurism. He was 61.

Plourde was born June 11, 1944, in Lisbon Falls, Maine Lisbon Falls is a census-designated place (CDP) within the town of Lisbon, located in Androscoggin County, Maine, United States. The population of Lisbon Falls was 4,420 at the 2000 U.S. census. , to Marcel and Mary Elcik Plourde. He married Mary Wathen in Leonardtown, Md., on Nov. 26, 1966.

He left Maine for Eugene in 1980.

He drove a truck and was warehouse manager at Canada Dry Canada Dry is a brand of soft drinks marketed by Dr Pepper/Seven Up, a unit of Cadbury-Schweppes. Canada Dry is best known for its ginger ale, but also manufactures a number of other soft drinks and mixers. .

Plourde enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He belonged to the Elks of Florence and the Springfield Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Randall of Eugene and Cory of Creswell; two brothers, Tom of Lisbon, Maine Lisbon is a town in Androscoggin County, Maine, United States with a population of 9,077 as of the 2000 U.S. census. It is included in both the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine Metropolitan New England City and Town Area. , and Toby of Corpus Christi, Texas Corpus Christi is a coastal city and the county seat of Nueces CountyGR6 in the U.S. state of Texas. Tuesday's service will be at 5:30 p.m. at the Springfield Moose Lodge. Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

Sharon Kay Withers of Salem, formerly of Springfield, died Dec. 2 at the age of 58. The family chose not to list a cause of death.

Withers was born March 23, 1947, in Portland to Lawrence and Joan Heil Lindsay. She married Steven Withers in 1970.

She was a homemaker who volunteered with organizations in Medford and Salem.

Survivors include her husband; her parents, Joan and Claude Riddle of Springfield; two sons, Drew of Keizer and Patrick of Fort Lewis, Wash.; five brothers, Brian Lindsay of Oxbow, Mark Lindsay of Gillette, Wyo., Larry Lindsay of Sisters, and Kevin and John Lindsay, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; six sisters, Judy Kellar of California, Tracy Deiter of Gillette, Maureen Killaby of Lindale, Texas, Shannon Gallimore of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Kerry Riddle and Megan Petrich, both of Portland; and two grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial was held Dec. 6. Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service of Salem is in charge of arrangements.
