Jean Conway

SPRINGFIELD - A celebration of life will be held July 6 for Jean Lois Conway of Springfield, who died July 1 of heart failure. She was 81.

She was born July 26, 1923, in Eugene to Richard and Hazel hazel, any plant of the genus Corylus of the family Betulaceae (birch family), shrubs or small trees with foliage similar to the related alders. They are often cultivated for ornament and for the edible nuts.  Paulsen Elliott. She married Richard L. "Dick" Conway in Berkeley, Calif., on April 18, 1942. She lived in Hayward, Calif., and Bernardsville, N.J., before retiring to Oregon in 1983.

Conway did volunteer work throughout her life and also enjoyed traveling, knitting, sewing sewing: see needlework. , painting and drawing. She was a member of McKenzie Valley Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Jeff of Napa, Calif.; two daughters, Marsha Gresham of Pittsburg, Calif., and Irma Spencer of Springfield; and seven grandchildren GRANDCHILDREN, domestic relations. The children of one's children. Sometimes these may claim bequests given in a will to children, though in general they can make no such claim. 6 Co. 16.  and 15 great-grandchildren.

Wednesday's celebration will be at 2 p.m. at McKenzie Valley Presbyterian Church in Walterville. Major Family Funeral Home, Springfield, is in charge of arrangements.

Bessie Clevenger

JUNCTION CITY Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859. The rail, trade, and processing center of an agricultural and dairy area, it grew as the supply point for nearby Fort Riley,  - The funeral will be July 6 for Bessie Emeline Clevenger of Junction City, who died July 1 of age-related causes. She was 87.

She was born Aug. 20, 1917, in No Water, Okla., to Leeroy and Nellie See Sooty albatross  Jackson Smith. She married Howard Clevenger on May 6, 1937. He died May 14, 1997.

She lived in Oklahoma and Kansas and then in Bakersfield, Calif., for 25 years before moving to Junction City, where she lived for 35 years.

Clevenger was a homemaker, cannery worker and Avon representative. She worked in a munitions mu·ni·tion

Her survivors include a daughter, Delores Colwell of Junction City; three sisters, Goldie Owens and Manilla Huffman, both of McAlester, Okla., and Jinx jinx

 will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at West Lawn Funeral Home in Eugene. Wednesday's funeral will be at 10 a.m., also at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Church in Franklin.
