Charleen Wilbur

A memorial service will be held June 21 for Charleen Karen Jensvold Wilbur of Eugene, who died June 17 of age-related causes. She was 81.

Wilbur was born Nov. 4, 1923, in Tacoma, to Charles and Gertrude Fraley Jensvold. She married Charles "Chuck" Wilbur on May 3, 1944, in Monmouth. He died July 17, 2004.

She grew up in White Salmon, Wash., and graduated with honors from Franklin High School Franklin High School may refer to:

. She moved to Portland, and later attended the Oregon College of Education in Monmouth. She next moved to Central Point and had lived in Eugene since 1949.

In the mid-1950s, she began a 20-year career as a kindergarten teacher at Howard Elementary School elementary school: see school. . She retired in 1975.

She was among founders of Peace Presbyterian Church and the River Road Park District. In retirement, she volunteered as a teacher for the Laubach Literacy Council.

Wilbur had been orphaned at a young age and enjoyed researching her family genealogy and corresponding with her siblings. She was an avid stamp collector and also enjoyed gardening, coffee, sewing, baking and weaving rugs. She also volunteered at Peace Presbyterian Church as an elder and a deacon and wrote a "People of Peace" column for the church newsletter.

Survivors include a son, C. Gregory Wilbur of Portland; three daughters, Bonnie Morlock of Tillamook, Rebecca Dodd of Liverpool, N.Y., and Gretchen Shinoda of Japan; three brothers, Martin Fraley of California, William Fraley of Oregon and Robert Jensvold of Washington; a sister, M. June Johnson of Pleasant Hill; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Tuesday's service will be held at 1 p.m. at Peace Presbyterian Church. Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Laubach Literacy Council or hospice.

Robert Anderson There have been many well-known people named Robert Anderson, including:

A celebration of life will be held June 24 for Robert E. Anderson of Eugene, who died June 6 of a heart attack. He was 85.

He was born May 14, 1920, in Long Beach, Calif., to Neil and Lottie Lovatt Anderson. He married Eleanor Beck in 1944. She died in 1963. He married Molly Murphy in 1965.

Anderson graduated from the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities.  in 1943 with a bachelor's of science degree. He served as a staff sergeant staff sergeant

Anderson had lived in Eugene for 51 years. He was past president of the American Cancer Society American Cancer Society,
n.pr established in 1913, this national volunteer-based health organization is committed to the elimination of cancer through prevention and treatment and to diminishing cancer suffering through advocacy, scholarship, research,
 in Eugene and of the Metropolitan Civic Club and belonged to many other civic groups.

He enjoyed golf, racquetball racquetball, sport played indoors by two or four players, combining elements of court handball and such racket games as squash racquets. It is played on a standard handball court 40 ft (12.2 m) long, 20 ft (6.  and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his son, David, of McMinnville; two stepdaughters, Patrice Philpott of Eugene and Mary Murphy Mary Murphy may refer to:

  • Mary Murphy (actress), an American actress.
  • Mary Murphy (choreographer), an American choreographer.
 of Seattle; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His second wife died in 1975.

Carrie McCaskill

COTTAGE GROVE Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery).  - A memorial will be held June 22 for Carrie Lou McCaskill of Cottage Grove, who died June 17 of age-related causes. She was 93.

McCaskill was born Oct. 2, 1911, in Abbeville, Ala., to Patrick and Callie Orr Lisenby. She married Virgil McCaskill in Sutherlin on Nov. 11, 1956. He died May 16, 1976.

She lived in many places in the South before moving to Cottage Grove in 1953. McCaskill was employed as a nursing assistant. She enjoyed church, quilting quilting, form of needlework, almost always created by women, most of them anonymous, in which two layers of fabric on either side of an interlining (batting) are sewn together, usually with a pattern of back or running (quilting) stitches that hold the layers  and gardening.

McCaskill was a member of Pennoyer Street Church of Christ where she made the floral pieces for many years.

Survivors include a brother, Fred Herard of Waskom, Texas Waskom is a city in Harrison County, Texas, located about 20 miles east of the county seat, Marshall, on U.S. Highway 80. The population was 2,068 at the 2000 census with a United States Census Bureau 2005 population estimate of 2,129 citizens. .

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Smith-Lund-Mills followed by a private interment at Fir Grove Cemetery in Cottage Grove.

Robert Mandish

Robert Lewis (16 March, 1909 – 23 November, 1997) was an American actor, director, drama teacher, author and founder of the influential Actors Studio in New York in 1947.
 Mandish of McKenzie Bridge, who died June 16 of heart disease. He was 70.

Mandish was born Aug. 25, 1934, in Grand Marais, Mich., to Louis and Eleanor Andreatta Mandish. He married Nancy Velte on March 24, 1973, in Vancouver, Wash.

He lived in Lisbon, Ohio, as a child and later moved to Tualatin. He was a residential contractor and, until his retirement, owned and operated Columbia Custom Homes, Inc., of Oregon, Vancouver, Wash., and Seattle.

He enjoyed building, hunting, fishing, camping and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Daniel of Sandy, Gary of La Pine and Jody of Tualatin; a daughter, Julie Mandish of Gresham; a brother, Donald, of Roseburg; and seven grandchildren.

Thursday's service will be held at 2 p.m. at Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield.

Aileen Thomas

Aileen Odessia Ford Thomas of Eugene died June 16 of cancer. She was 44.

A private service for family and friends is planned.

Thomas was born April 2, 1961, in Medford to Allen and Grace Kuykendall Ford. She married Duane Thomas on Feb. 28, 1985, in Lebanon.

She graduated from Barrett Business College in Medford and worked as a cook and restaurant manager in several restaurants. She also was employed as a food service supervisor, most recently at Gateway Living. She had lived in Eugene for 14 years and previously lived in Medford and Ashland.

She enjoyed spending time with her children, camping and playing softball. She belonged to Calvary Baptist Church in Ashland.

Survivors include her husband; her parents, of Talent; five sons, James, Jacob, Keith, Kurtis and Zachary, all of Eugene; a brother, Benton Ford of Bend; and two sisters, Sandy Tracy of Ashland and Amanda Ford of Medford. England's Eugene Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
