 Brown of Eugene, who died March 3 of heart failure. She was 66.

Brown was born April 5, 1938, in Muncie, Ind., to Frank and Harriet Moody Shay. She attended business college.

She married Elwin E. "Sonny" Shorey in Eugene in 1960. They later divorced. She married John A. Brown in La Pine in 1985. He died in 1995.

She lived in La Pine, Springfield and Eugene.

She was a professional dancer who owned and operated her own dance studio, Edgewood Ballet and Performing Arts, in Eugene. She also volunteered for homeless shelters in the area and was secretary for The Last Resort homeless shelter in Eugene.

She enjoyed dancing, teaching, reading, painting, writing poetry and spending time "Spending Time" is the first single released by Christian artist Stellar Kart.

The lyrics describe the band members desire to spend "more time with God". "Sometimes it’s a real struggle to spend time with God.
 with her family. She was a member of River Oaks Community Church in Eugene.

Survivors include two daughters, Julie Pelkey of Eugene and Renee Billingslea of Santa Clara Santa Clara, city, Cuba

, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Today's service will be at 3 p.m. at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Last Resort homeless shelter.

Edith Davis

A celebration of life will be today for Edith M. Davis of Eugene, who died March 3 of age-related causes. She was 91.

She was born Sept. 7, 1913, in Mounds, Ill., to Charles and Alice Prim Johnston. She married Jean Guy Davis in El Centro El Centro (ĕl sĕn`trō), city (1990 pop. 31,384), seat of Imperial co., SE Calif., near the Mexican border; inc. 1908. It is a processing and shipping center for a heavily irrigated agricultural region (vegetables, grain, cotton, , Calif., on April 25, 1937. He died in 1993.

Davis completed two years of college in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. . She was a bookkeeper for First National and First Interstate banks. She enjoyed gardening and reading.

Survivors include a daughter, Christine Sullivan of Eugene; a son, Russell of Eugene; and two grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

Today's celebration will be at 4 p.m. at 1207 Courtney Place in Eugene. England's Eugene Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

John Murray Not to be confused with John Murry.
There have been several important people by the name of John Murray (roughly in chronological order):

John "Jack" Joseph Murray of Eugene died March 3 of lung cancer lung cancer, cancer that originates in the tissues of the lungs. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States in both men and women. Like other cancers, lung cancer occurs after repeated insults to the genetic material of the cell. . He was 79.

He was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Norristown, Pa., to Patrick and Clara Bateman Murray. He graduated from Norristown High School in 1942.

Murray served in the Army Air Corps as a radio operator and gunner on a B-17 bomber patrolling the North Atlantic.

He attended college in the Philadelphia area. He worked at an insurance company, rising to become its director of sales management. He then taught English at Norristown High School.

Murray was elected president of the teachers union and moved to Washington, D.C., to head a department for the American Federation of Teachers American Federation of Teachers (AFT), an affiliate of the AFL-CIO. It was formed (1916) out of the belief that the organizing of teachers should follow the model of a labor union, rather than that of a professional association. .

He later returned to the financial field.

He married Jeanne Ferguson, a native of Springfield, and moved to the Eugene area. They later divorced. He married Beverly Green in 1994.

Murray lived in Eugene until relocating to Tucson, Ariz., for seven years. He returned to Eugene in 2002.

Marvin Casey

Casey was born Nov. 15, 1930, in Portland to John Casey and Helen Springer Fisher. He married Patsy Lewis in Georgetown, Texas, on Feb. 29, 1952.

He lived in Creswell and Eugene. Casey served during the Korean War Korean War, conflict between Communist and non-Communist forces in Korea from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953. At the end of World War II, Korea was divided at the 38th parallel into Soviet (North Korean) and U.S. (South Korean) zones of occupation.  and was awarded a Purple Heart.

He was employed as a logger. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, football, horses and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard of Eugene and Dale of Creswell; a daughter, Shannon Brauner of Brush Prairie, Wash.; a sister, Dolores Dolores (or Delores) was a common given name (until the 1960s in the USA); it is cognate with the English word "dolorous" (meaning sorrowful) and equivalent in meaning.  Montgomery of Portland; five brothers, Verne Casey, Arlee Fisher, Earl Fisher, Bobby Fisher and Jackie Fisher, all of Portland; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

No service is planned. England's Creswell Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
