OBITUARIES.Byline: The Register-Guard Duane Bergman The funeral will be Feb. 8 for Duane John Bergman of Eugene, who died Feb. 5 at age 67. The family chose not to list the cause of death. Bergman was born June 20, 1937, in Port Gamble, Wash., to Roy and Ellen Bergman. He married Linda R. Stults in 1963. They later divorced. He lived in Oakridge and the Alaska communities of Kodiak and Prudhoe Bay Prudhoe Bay, inlet of the Beaufort Sea and Arctic Ocean, N Alaska, in the Alaska North Slope region, east of the Colville River delta. In 1968 one of the largest oil reserves in North America was discovered in Prudhoe Bay. . Bergman served in the U.S. Army and was employed in the heavy construction industry. He enjoyed animals, hunting, fishing, rodeo and stock car racing

Simpson was born May 5, 1937, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Donald and Doris Spurgeon George. She married Earl Simpson in Drain on June 25, 1955. She lived in Drain for 40 years and in Cottage Grove and Eugene for nine years. Simpson worked as a payroll clerk for more than 25 years at Kwikee Manufacturing in Cottage Grove. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, cooking and spending time "Spending Time" is the first single released by Christian artist Stellar Kart.
