OBITUARIES.Byline: The Register-Guard Domenico Tonole COTTAGE GROVE Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery). - The funeral will be held Dec. 10 for Domenico "Mac" Tonole of Cottage Grove, who died Dec. 4 of age-related causes. He was 99. Tonole was born Jan. 31, 1905, in Cottage Grove to John and Angelina Perini Tonole. He married Thelma Lebow on April 21, 1928, in Eugene. She died July 14, 1994. As a young man, he worked on the railroad near Oakridge. He later was a mill worker for W.A. Woodard Lumber Co., and continued with the company after it was bought by Weyerhaeuser Lumber Co. He retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1970. Tonole was a lifelong resident of Cottage Grove. He belonged to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows
The Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F. Lodge 68 in Cottage Grove. Survivors include a son, Wayne, of Portland; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A daughter, Janet Dyche, died Dec. 20, 2002. Friday's funeral will be held at 1 p.m. at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. Burial will be in Shields Cemetery, also in Cottage Grove. Ernestine Mitchell A memorial service will be held Dec. 13 for Ernestine Mitchell of Eugene, who died Nov. 14 of age-related causes. She was 87. She was born Dec. 13, 1916, in Bernadotte Township, Ill., to Stephen and Edith Wilson Mitchell. Mitchell attended Northwestern Bible School in Minneapolis. She worked as a secretary in a Christian bookstore in Minneapolis and also was a secretary at the Conservative Baptist Seminary in Denver, Colo. She moved to Eugene in 1934 and was a secretary in the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. Andrus was born March 19, 1906, in Range, to Grosvenor and Christina Miller Andrus. He married Dorothy Johnson on April 9, 1928, in Hood River The Hood River is a tributary of the Columbia River in northwestern Oregon in the United States. He married Leona Weatherly on June 27, 1991. At age 12, he hired out on his first cattle drive. At age 19, he was contracted to haul lumber in his own truck. Reubens is a city in Lewis County, Idaho, United States, on the camas prairie. The population was 72 at the 2000 census. , to Bert and Maud Demerest Mead. She graduated from Myrtle Point High School. She married Ray Rookard; he died in 1986. She drove school buses in the 1950s and worked at the Gardiner and Reedsport post offices in the 1970s. She was 91. Soults was born July 7, 1913, in Nanaimo, B.C., to Harry and Mary Auchinvole. She married Edgar Soults on Oct. 12, 1935, in Oakland, Calif. He died in 1999. She graduated from high school in Oakland, Calif., and was a longtime homemaker. She had lived in Eugene for 60 years and previously lived in Yuma, Ariz.
