OBITUARIES.Byline: The Register-Guard Charles Farmer A memorial celebration will be today, Oct. 2, for former Eugene resident Charles "Charlie" Farmer of Gold Beach, who died Sept. 28 of an apparent heart attack. He was 70. Farmer was born May 26, 1934, in Bridge to Charles Samuel and Eve Jane Pemberton Farmer. He married Vella Mae Farmer in 1956. The couple later divorced. He married Jorita Ann Osborn on April 6, 1977. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He lived in Eugene from 1956 to 1973. He worked in dairy sales and delivery for more than 35 years for Grove Maid, Echo Springs and Umpqua dairies. He was a volunteer Forest Service campground host for eight years, in Lakeside, Quosatana and Agness. For the past six years ,he was host at Huntley Park in Gold Beach. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cribbage cribbage (krĭb`ĭj), card game played by two persons with a deck of 52 cards and a scoring (pegging) device known as a cribbage board. . Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Diana DuBose and Linda Nelson, both of Eugene, and Carri Farmer of Bandon; a son, William Farmer of Estacada; two sisters, Norma Fenimore of Salem and Patricia Albright of Bend; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. An infant daughter, Barbara Jean, died previously.
