OBITUARIES.Byline: The Register-Guard Gertrude McEldowney HARRISBURG - The funeral will be held June 23 for Gertrude E. "Gertie" McEldowney, who died June 19 of age-related causes. She was 93. She was born Feb. 4, 1911, in Forbes, N.D., to Arthur and Mathilda Haag Greig. She graduated from Kings Valley High School and attended Oregon Normal School. She married Frank S. McEldowney in Lewisville on June 8, 1929. He died Feb. 24, 1986. She lived in Kings Valley from 1913 to 1929, when she moved to McMinnville. She moved to Harrisburg in 1931. Her interests included gardening, bowling, fishing, card games and camping. She was a member of Harrisburg United Methodist Church United Methodist Church, in the United States, religious body formed by the union in 1968 of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Methodist Church (see Methodism). , Harrisburg Garden Club, Charity Grange and Rebekah Lodge. She climbed Mount Hood in 1928. Survivors include three sons, Marvin of Milwaukie, Eldon of Harrisburg and Lyle of Junction City Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859.
