OBITUARIES.Byline: The Register-Guard James Dennis YONCALLA - A memorial service will be held March 2 for James Carl Dennis Carl Dennis (born September 17, 1939), an American poet and educator, wrote Practical Gods, which won the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for poetry. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 17, 1939, Dennis attended Oberlin College and the University of Chicago prior to receiving of Yoncalla, who died Feb. 26 of a heart attack. He was 77. He was born Feb. 15, 1927, in Lamesa, Texas Lamesa is the seat of Dawson County, Texas, United States. GR6 Located south of Lubbock on the Llano Estacado, Lamesa was founded in 1903. Most of the economy is based on cattle and cotton. A prison is being constructed in Lamesa. , to Thomas and Sarah West Dennis. He married June Thompson in California on Jan. 19, 1958. Dennis grew up and attended school in Hillsboro, Texas Hillsboro is a city in Hill County, Texas, United States. The population was 9,000 in the 2005 census. It is the county seat of Hill CountyGR6. . He served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Harvey Aluminum Co. in California, and also worked as a telephone line installer in Texas. He enjoyed horses and hunting with his favorite hound, Blue Cindy. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign War and Yoncalla Assembly of God Church. He earned several medals in the Golden Age Games in Louisiana, Texas, Wyoming and Kansas. Survivors include his wife; a son, David of Apple Valley, Calif.; a daughter, Becky Hughes of Tennessee; a brother, Billy of Cottage Grove Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery). ; three sisters, Mary Turner of Grandview, Texas Grandview is a city in Johnson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,358 at the 2000 census. Tuesday's service will be at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Chester Hosman COTTAGE GROVE - Chester A. "Chet" Hosman of Cottage Grove died Feb. 22 of age-related causes. He was 95. He was born March 7, 1908, in Goodwin, Okla., to Charles and Laura Pearce Hosman. He married Minnie Ramsey in Myrtle Point on Aug. 23, 1927. She died May 13, 2001. Hosman grew up in Myrtle Point and graduated from Myrtle Point High School. He moved to Cottage Grove in 1930. He worked at several service stations and mills, and was employed with South Lane School District as a bus driver for 20 years, retiring in June 1973. Hosman was an accomplished musician. He especially loved playing the guitar and drums. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Cottage Grove for many years. He was active in the community and volunteered with Senior Wheels from 1980 until 1992. Survivors include three daughters, Bettie Fletcher of Albany, Jean Sarff of Dallas, Ore., and Lorene Scott of North Bend North Bend is the name of several places in the United States of America:
