He married Judy Lent in Florence on July 31, 1965. Coolidge worked at Champion Logging Co., at Weyerhaeuser Co. and at the Murphy Plywood Mill. He also drove a log truck for Thorpe Logging Co. He lived in Florence until 1995, then moved to Roseburg where he and his wife ran a foster care home. The couple divorced in 1997 and he moved back to Florence.
