Byline: The Register-Guard

Sandy Griffin

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. today, March 10, at Major Family Funeral Home for Sandy Rae Griffin of Eugene, who died March 7 of heart failure. She was 48. A reception will follow the service at the Thurston Grange.

She was born July 17, 1959, in Mount Vernon, Wash., to Marvin and Madge Moore Anderson. She married Jack Griffin on June 28, 1980, in Eugene.

She attended Thurston High School and Lane Community College. She worked at Oregon Medical Lab, Lane Memorial Blood Bank and PeaceHealth.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Andraea Griffin of Eugene; a son, Nic Griffin of Eugene; six sisters, Janie Brueneman of Maine, Tammie McConkey of Spokane, Wash., Sally Aiken of Sagle, Idaho, Sherry Sparks of Eugene, and Debbie Gese and Robin Laduke, both of Bend; and a brother, Bill Anderson of Colorado.

Arrangements by Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield.

Elmer Lewis

JUNCTION CITY - Elmer "John" Lewis of Junction City died March 4 of age-related causes at age 88. A private family gathering is planned.

He was born Aug. 12, 1919, in Oilton, Okla., to Fred Lewis and Rosa Butner Lewis. He married Gladys Sprague on March 17, 1944. She died previously.

Lewis served in the U.S. Army in 1940. He was a barber.

Survivors include a daughter, Tammie Keeler of Junction City; two sisters, Valaria Millican of Adair, Okla., and Adelade Wilson of Claremore, Okla., five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A daughter, Melodie Wagner, died Feb. 28, 2008.

Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene. Arrangements by Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City.

Florence Seymour

COTTAGE GROVE - Florence Seymour of Cottage Grove died of cancer on March 6. She was 86. No service is planned.

She was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Glenbar, Ariz., to Henry and Bertha Nations Kartchner. She married Frederick Seymour in Tucson, Ariz. He died previously.

She graduated from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Tucson. She worked as head surgical nurse and retired from McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, in 1979.

Survivors include a son, John of Dorena; a daughter, Barbara Seymour of Cottage Grove; two brothers; and four sisters.

Inurnment will be at Washington Heights Memorial Park in Ogden, Utah. Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove.

Izetta Stumbaugh

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. March 27 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Eugene for Izetta Stumbaugh of Eugene, who died March 5 of age-related causes. She was 88.

She was born April 5, 1919, in Delhi, Iowa, to A.A. and Birdena Angell Schmidt.

She married Ray Stumbaugh on May 7, 1940, in Independence, Iowa. He died May 14, 2007.

She taught piano from 1941 to 1943 and from 1947 to 1966 and worked as comptroller of Monticello Community Schools.

Survivors include a son, Bruce of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Barbara Cook of Eugene; and two grandchildren.

Inurnment will be in the Rose Garden at Wesley United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Camp Courageous in Monticello, Iowa.
