He was born Nov. 22, 1917, in Eugene to Frank and Sarah Addison Tripp. Tripp held a bachelor's degree in music from the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. Luis Serrano SPRINGFIELD - The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Eugene for Luis Alberto Serrano of Springfield, who died April 1 of cancer at age 12. After the mass, burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery in Springfield. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, April 3, at Andreason's Cremation cremation, disposal of a corpse by fire. It is an ancient and widespread practice, second only to burial. John Hartman SPRINGFIELD - A memorial gathering will be at 2 p.m. today, April 3, at Valley West Health Care Center in Eugene for John Anthony "Tony" Hartman of Springfield. He died March 29 of congestive heart failure congestive heart failure, inability of the heart to expel sufficient blood to keep pace with the metabolic demands of the body. In the healthy individual the heart can tolerate large increases of workload for a considerable length of time. at age 54. He was born Oct. 10, 1952, in Heppner to John and Ida May Rauch Hartman. Hartman graduated from high school in 1970 in Toledo. He was a millworker at Rosboro Lumber for 25 years and most recently worked at Valley West Health Care Center. He was born Dec. 25, 1932, in Eugene to Elmer and Ellinor Kocks Borgaard. He married Lois Gibson on Dec. 12, 1958, in Elmira. Borgaard served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a restaurant owner. Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael of Sacramento; a daughter, Melinda Mead of Canby; two brothers, Richard of Prineville and Norman of Powell Butte; and three grandchildren. Private burial will be in Danish Cemetery in Junction City. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Camp Harlow, in care of the church. Clarification Harry Edward Peltzer, 83, of Eugene, died March 24. At his request, no service is planned. Peltzer graduated from the University of Washington in 2004 with a bachelor's degree.
