She attended school in Roseburg and Eugene. Neighbors worked as a domestic helper and caregiver to families and children. She had a local radio program in the 1930s. Sanborn was born Jan. 18, 1914, in Swampscott, Mass., to Vernon and Lydia Kendrick Sanborn. He married Mabel Dixey in Marblehead, Mass., on Aug. 28, 1936. She died March 17, 2003. He graduated from Marblehead High School and attended San Diego State University San Diego State University (SDSU), founded in 1897 as San Diego Normal School, is the largest and oldest higher education facility in the greater San Diego area (generally the City and County of San Diego), and is part of the California State University system. . He worked in construction and as a building inspector for the federal government.
