She moved from Frankfurt to Gig Harbor, Wash., in 1975, and moved to Portland in 1984. She had lived in Lane County since 1986. Powell was a high school graduate. She enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with her sons. She graduated from Myrtle Point High School in 1930 and had nurse's training at Stanford Lane Hospital in San Francisco. She worked as a nurse in Sac- ramento. She enjoyed restoring and building oak furniture, knitting lace, walking on the beach and organizing family get-togethers. She was involved with the Bandon Senior Activity Center, the North Fork Home Extension, Stanford Nurses Alumni and worked as a hospice volunteer. Survivors include her sister, Hazel Clark of Elkton.
