Helen Kyle

COTTAGE GROVE Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery).  - A memorial service will be held June 3 for Helen Madeline Kyle of Cottage Grove, who died May 27 of age-related causes. She was 89.

Kyle was born June 6, 1914, in Bird City, Kan., to Herman and Pearl Mace Kanel. She married Basil Kyle in Colby, Kan., on June 7, 1931. He died in November 1992.

She settled in Cottage Grove in 1935 and was a homemaker.

She enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Boots and Sandals club for 35 years. She also enjoyed roses and belonged to the Neighborly neigh·bor·ly

Survivors include a son, Robert of Long Beach, Calif.; a brother, William "Bill" Kanel of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Thursday's service will be held at 1 p.m. at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. Inurnment will be at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene.

Cathy Ramey

A celebration of life will be held later for Cathy Ramey of Eugene, who died May 26. She was 54. Her family chose not to list the cause of death.

Ramey was born Feb. 18, 1950, in Eugene, to Carl and Thelma Thorp John- son. She married Ben Ramey in Eugene on Oct. 9, 1983. He later died.

She was a lifelong resident of Eugene and graduated from Elmira High School

Elmira High School is a 4A public high school of about 500 students in Elmira, Oregon located approximately 15 miles from Eugene.

She enjoyed music and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her life partner, Bob Louvring; a son, Jamie Davis of Creswell; a brother, Robert Johnson of Noti; a sister, Charlotte Heile of Eugene; and three grand- children.

West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Willamette Valley Cancer Center.

June Sheffield-Sams

REEDSPORT - The funeral will be held June 4 for June Louise Sheffield-Sams of Reedsport, who died May 31 of age-related causes. She was 78.

Sheffield-Sams was born June 29, 1925, in Asheville, N.C., to Amos and Sally Fortner Davis. She married Connie Sams Sr., in Greenville, S.C., on June 29, 1945. He died in 1980. She married Wayne Sheffield. He died in 2000.

She settled in this area in 1955.

She was a homemaker, and she enjoyed quilting quilting, form of needlework, almost always created by women, most of them anonymous, in which two layers of fabric on either side of an interlining (batting) are sewn together, usually with a pattern of back or running (quilting) stitches that hold the layers . She was a member of the Calvary Mission Baptist Church, and she served as a hospice volunteer.

Survivors include five sons, Carrol Sams and Connie Sams Jr., both of Reedsport, Dean Sams of Sturgis, S.D., Don Sams of Pennsylvania and Robert Sams of Springfield; a daughter, Sally Shrum of Springfield; two brothers, Claude and Orville Davis, both of Marshall, N.C.; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dunes Memorial Chapel in Reedsport. Friday's service will be held at 10 a.m., also at the chapel. A graveside grave·side

Mildred Webb

Mildred F. "Millie" Webb of Eugene died May 28 of age-related causes. She was 84.

Webb was born Jan 13, 1920 in Tigrett, Tenn., to Ed and Willie Owen Williams. She married Walt Webb in Denver on Sept. 24, 1945. He died March 24, 1998.

She graduated from high school in Friendship, Tenn.

She lived in Tigrett until 1938 when she moved to Inglewood, Calif. She settled in Eugene in 1971.

Webb was a homemaker, and she worked as a real estate agent. Her interests included advocating for women's rights The effort to secure equal rights for women and to remove gender discrimination from laws, institutions, and behavioral patterns.

The women's rights movement began in the nineteenth century with the demand by some women reformers for the right to vote, known as suffrage, and
. She was affiliated with Womenspace, Meals on Wheels n. 1. A program that delivers hot meals to persons, such as the elderly or disabled, who are confined to their homes and unable to cook for themselves; also, the meals thus delivered. Such programs are usually conducted by governmental or charitable organizations.  and Learning in Retirement.

Survivors include a son, William of San Francisco; a daughter, Linda Ross of Eugene; a sister, Ann Tate; and one grandchild.

No service is planned. Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

Yung Leung

The memorial service will be held June 5 for Yung Cheong Leung of Eugene, who died May 27 of cancer. He was 69.

Leung was born March 4, 1935, in Guang Zhou, China, to Kwing Sheung and Mu Lian Peng Leung. He married Wan Xiang Zhong in Guang Zhou on Jan. 23, 1981.

Leung received a bachelor's degree from Zhi-Jiang University in China and worked as a computer technician at Practical Computers Inc. He moved to Springfield in 1993 and then to Eugene in 1997.

His interests included gardening, reading books, keeping up on the news and discussing politics.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Vindy Leung of Eugene; two brothers, Zi Cheong and Peter, both of Eugene; and four sisters, Jie Yu Leung, Shu Yu Leung, Wai Yu Leung and Fen Yu Leung, all of Eugene.

Saturday's service will be held at 2 p.m. at Rest-Haven Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Eugene.

Private burial will be at Rest-Haven Mausoleum mausoleum (môsəlē`əm), a sepulchral structure or tomb, especially one of some size and architectural pretension, so called from the sepulcher of that name at Halicarnassus, Asia Minor, erected (c.352 B.C. .

Daniel Taylor

SPRINGFIELD - The funeral will be held June 5 for Daniel Wallace Taylor of Springfield, who drowned May 29. He was 32.

Taylor was born July 3, 1971, in Eugene to W. Michael Taylor and Ruth Westover. He married Nikki Wilhite in Portland on Dec. 18, 1993.

He lived in Portland before moving to Springfield, where he lived for most of his life.

He received a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities. . He was employed as a certified public accountant Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

An accountant who has met certain standards, including experience, age, and licensing, and passed exams in a particular state.
 at Jones & Roth CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000. .

 of Latter-day Saints Springfield 4th Ward. He also belonged to the UO Alumni Association and to the Oregon Board of Accountancy.

He enjoyed scuba diving, fishing, hunting and camping. He also enjoyed music, and he sang with a choir and played the piano. He especially enjoyed being with his family.

Survivors include his wife; his mother of Springfield; his father of Ridgefield, Wash.; three sons, Dyllan, Devin and Dallen, all of Springfield; a daughter, Brinley Taylor of Springfield; a brother, David of Springfield; and three sisters, Brenda Ogan, Aimee Whitmer and Erica Westover, all of Springfield.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield. Saturday's service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 525 66th St. in Springfield. Burial will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Taylor children at any Oregon Community Credit Union.

Warren Reddick Sr.

COTTAGE GROVE - Warren W. Reddick Sr. of Cottage Grove died May 28 of complications from emphysema emphysema (ĕmfĭsē`mə), pathological or physiological enlargement or overdistention of the air sacs of the lungs. A major cause of pulmonary insufficiency in chronic cigarette smokers, emphysema is a progressive disease that commonly  and congestive heart failure congestive heart failure, inability of the heart to expel sufficient blood to keep pace with the metabolic demands of the body. In the healthy individual the heart can tolerate large increases of workload for a considerable length of time. . He was 81.

Reddick was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Millen, Ga., to Simon Corrie and Madee Skinner Reddick. He married Esther Fye in San Mateo, Calif., in 1944. She died in 1998.

He grew up in Belmont, N.C., and graduated from Belmont High School Belmont High School may refer to:
