Frances Babb

A memorial service will be held April 7 for Frances Elaine Breshears Babb of Eugene, who died April 4 of age-related causes. She was 96.

Babb was born April 8, 1907, in Elgin to William and Margaret Eckley Breshears. She married Avon Dale Babb on Feb. 16, 1926. He died in 1986.

She settled in this area 79 years ago and her interests included vegetable and flower gardening and crossword puzzles. She was a University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities.  football and basketball fan and she also enjoyed traveling. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

She will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her sense of humor Noun 1. sense of humor - the trait of appreciating (and being able to express) the humorous; "she didn't appreciate my humor"; "you can't survive in the army without a sense of humor"

 and for her ability to remember facts, figures, people and places.

Survivors include three daughters, Frances Latone of Chicago, Donna Brown of Chicago and Nancy Gilmore of Eugene; two sons, Alan and Lee, both of Eugene; 20 grandchildren; and 26 great-grand- children. A daughter, Rebecca, died in 1984.

Wednesday's service will be held at 10 a.m. at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Assistance League of Eugene.

Beverly Kilwien

The funeral will be held today, April 6, for Beverly Ann Kilwien of Aberdeen, Wash., formerly of Oakridge and Eugene, who died April 1 of heart failure. She was 63.

Kilwien was born Oct. 15, 1940, in Helena. Mont., to John and Lenore Thomas Fleming People named Thomas Fleming:
  • Thomas Fleming, Earl of Wigtown (d. 1382)
  • Sir Thomas Fleming (judge), (1544 - 1613), English judge.
  • Tom Fleming (Thomas Vincent Fleming), American, early baseball player.
. She married Eugene Kilwien in Oakridge on Oct. 24, 1959.

She lived in Oakridge and Eugene, then moved to Aberdeen in 1973. She attended Oakridge High School and a beauty college in Eugene.

She was a homemaker and she enjoyed music, painting and playing the piano.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, David of Aberdeen and Michael of Marysville, Wash.; a daughter, Karrie Hartman of Aberdeen; two sisters, Diane Kahler of Salem and Shiela Goff of Crescent Lake For the lake in Washington, USA, see .
Yueyaquan (Chinese: 月牙泉; Pinyin: Yuèyá Quán 
; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Oakridge Chapel of the Woods Funeral Home. Today's service will be held at 2 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Forestvale Memorial Park in Oakridge.

Neva Weick

SPRINGFIELD - The funeral will be held April 8 for Neva Alice Weick of Springfield, who died April 3 of cancer. She was 75.

Weick was born Feb. 12, 1929, in Cottage Grove Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery).  to Albert and Hilda Tonoli. She married Walter Weick in 1961. He died in 1991.

She was a lifetime resident of this area and lived in Cottage Grove and Creswell before settling in Springfield.

She graduated from Cottage Grove High School Cottage Grove High School is a public high school located in Cottage Grove, Oregon. It has a newer school building, opened in 2003 to replace the old high school building that was built in 1939 and held its first classes in 1940. . She enjoyed hunting and fishing and she was an accomplished gardener. She especially enjoyed spending time "Spending Time" is the first single released by Christian artist Stellar Kart.

The lyrics describe the band members desire to spend "more time with God". "Sometimes it’s a real struggle to spend time with God.

Survivors include two sons, Don of Springfield and Dan of Salem; four sisters, Linda Perkins of Fortuna, Calif., Kitty Searle of Roseburg, Jan Thompson of Cottage Grove and Judi Spruill of Sun City, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. A daughter, Salli Sorden, died in 1985.

A memorial service will be held today, April 6, for John E. Sutton of Eugene, who died April 2 of cancer. He was 77.

Sutton was born Dec. 4, 1926, in Aitkin, Minn., to Murray and Anna Swing Sutton.

He resided in Seattle before moving to this area 18 years ago. He lived in Springfield before settling in Eugene. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon. He served in the Army with the military police during World War II.

 for Safeway Stores. He enjoyed golfing, traveling and reading. He also enjoyed spending time with his niece, nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces.

Survivors include a brother, Murray Jr., of Livingston, Mont.

Today's service will be held at 2 p.m. at Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield. Private burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery Willamette National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery in Clackamas County, Oregon, about 10 miles southeast of the city of Portland, Oregon. It encompasses 269.4 acres, and as of the end of 2005, had 126,561 interments.  in Portland.

Dwayne Bagley

 service will be held April 7 for Dwayne Bagley of Florence, who died March 31 of heart disease. He was 65.

Bagley was born May 28, 1938, in Burn. He married Margo Woodbury on May 16, 1966.

He served in the Air Force in the 1960s. He was employed as a computer operator and he owned a mobile home park.

Survivors include his wife; and a son, Derik of Florence.

Wednesday's service will be held at 11 a.m. at Burns Cemetery in Burns. Burns' Riverside Chapel/Florence Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
