Cobb was born March 6, 1947, in Duncan, Okla., to Charles and Ruby Umphers Cobb. She and her first husband owned and operated car dealerships in Van Hook and Circle, Mont. She later worked as a waitress. Her interests included traveling. He worked in route services with Valley Vending. He enjoyed autocrosses and hill climbs. He especially enjoyed attending dog shows with his dog, Tux, and cheering his son at water polo matches and swim meets. His family and friends will remember his ability to make them smile, his positive impact on people and his love for his family. Katherine Blago SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be held in September for Katherine Anne "Kathy" Blago of Springfield, who died Aug. 11 at the age of 56. The cause of death has not been determined. Blago was born April 22, 1947, in Mexico City to Nicholas and Margaret Doig Blago. She graduated from South Eugene High School in 1965 and was a National Merit Scholar. She received a bachelor's degree in community service from the University of Oregon in 1972 and a bachelor's degree in electronics engineering technology from the Oregon Institute of Technology The Oregon Institute of Technology, also known as Oregon Tech or OIT, is an accredited university in the Oregon University System, and the only public institute of technology in the northwest United States. in 1991. She worked as a swim instructor and lifeguard for the city of Eugene for many years. She was employed as an electronic engineer for OrCAD in Beaverton from 1992 until 1997. She lived in Eugene from 1950 until 1989 when she moved to Klamath Falls. She lived in the Portland area from 1991 until 1998 when she returned to Eugene. She settled in Springfield in 2002. She enjoyed folk dancing, camping, hiking and singing, especially round singing. She was a founding member of the Eugene Folklore Society and had a lifetime affiliation with the Girl Scouts Western Rivers Council. She attended Reed College and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music was a conservatory formed in 1867 by Clara Baur as part of a girls' finishing school. After years of competition with the College of Music of Cincinnati, the two schools merged in August 1955 to form the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music . She worked as a private piano teacher in her home for 50 years. She enjoyed knitting, reading and going on trips. She was a member of the PEO Sisterhood sisterhood: see monasticism. . She lived in Eugene for 40 years and later settled in Longview. During World War II, Stuller served in the Army, earning the rank of staff sergeant. He married Elsie Blount in Vancouver, Wash., on March 6, 1944. Stuller worked in sales for several petroleum companies. Before moving to Eugene in 1982, he lived in the Portland area. He spent winters in Apache Junction, Ariz., from 1984 to 1999. His interests included fishing, playing golf, square dancing, camping and photography. He belonged to the River Road Kiwanis Club and was a member of the Leader's Club in Portland. Sarah Kaplan Sarah G. "Sally" Kaplan of Eugene, died Aug. 20 of complications from a stroke. She was 85. Kaplan was born Nov. 26, 1917, in Lockport, N.Y., to Frank and Rose Battalgia Pusteri. She married Louis Kaplan in Detroit on Oct. 5, 1940. She received a bachelor's and a master's degree in nursing. She worked as a public health nurse and as a school nurse. She lived in Monmouth, Los Angeles, Torrance, Calif., and Carson City, Nev., before settling in Eugene in 1997. She enjoyed knitting and gardening, particularly roses. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a very spiritual, strong lady who was a fighter.
