Riley of Walterville, who died Aug. 6 of complications from pneumonia. She was 89. Riley was born Feb. 6, 1914, in a cabin on the Harrington Ranch east of Sisters, to Herman and Gladys Duval Seaman. She married Gerald Riley in Centralia, Wash., on Aug. 10, 1935. He died Aug. 4, 1988. She rode to school on horseback on the back of a horse; mounted or riding on a horse or horses; in the saddle. See also: Horseback until the 5th grade. She later moved to Washington and graduated from Oakville High School in 1931. She moved to the Thurston area in 1940 and later settled in Walterville. She served as president of a Take Off Pounds Sensibly group in California and she served as president for an American Cancer Society American Cancer Society, n.pr established in 1913, this national volunteer-based health organization is committed to the elimination of cancer through prevention and treatment and to diminishing cancer suffering through advocacy, scholarship, research, agency that covered 17 cities, also in California. Survivors include three sons, James Fish of Eugene, Guy Fish of Boise and Scott Camery of Corona, Calif.; a daughter, Virginia Moon of Eugene; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was 53. Wright was born Aug. 19, 1949, in Eugene to George and Arline Oglesbey Wright. He married Elizabeth "Betty" DaPron in Reno, Nev., on Aug. 17, 1972. He was a lifelong resident of this area and lived in Springfield and Pleasant Hill before settling in Cottage Grove. He graduated from Pleasant Hill High School and studied welding and machine shop at Lane Community College for two years. He owned Wright Machine Tool Company Inc. in Cottage Grove. He enjoyed building and flying airplanes. He also enjoyed motorcycles and fast cars. He was a member of the Evac Car Club in Eugene. Patton was born July 30, 1937, in Beaver Falls, Pa., to David and Stella Guist Patton. He married Dana Glenn in Tucson, Ariz., on Dec. 4, 1965. He lived in Tucson, Ariz., Gallup, N.M., and Sahuarita, Ariz., and Elko, Nev., before settling in Creswell in 1999. He graduated from high school in Beaver, Pa. He served in the Navy from 1955 until 1958. He was employed as a miner and worked with copper in Arizona, coal in New Mexico and gold in Nevada. His interests included computers. He enjoyed working with his tractor, wood working and helping with canning. He was a member of the Cottage Grove United Methodist Church United Methodist Church, in the United States, religious body formed by the union in 1968 of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Methodist Church (see Methodism). . He served as a volunteer with the Disabled American Veterans The Disabled American Veterans, or DAV, is an organization for disabled veterans that helps them and their families through various means. It currently has over 1.2 million members. The DAV was controversial during the 2006 election cycle. and spent 100 hours driving to Portland.
