OAS Develops First-Ever Remote Control of Building Systems Using Mobile Devices.

Software Development Allows 24-Hour Monitoring, Adjustment of Building Controls

-- Optimum Applied Systems Inc., a leading energy conservation technology firm, today introduced H-COM: Heat Computer Mobile(SM), an innovative software program that allows users to monitor and adjust a building's energy-burning system using any mobile device from anywhere on the planet.

The H-COM: Heat Computer Mobile(SM) was announced today at OAS' Hawthorne, New York Hawthorne is an unincorporated hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) located in the town of Mount Pleasant in Westchester County, New York. The population was 7,083 at the 2000 census. History

"For the first time a person can be on a beach in Brazil and turn down the heat in a building in the Bronx," said Ed Winiarski, OAS OAS

"We are constantly improving on technology to help people take control of fuel waste and keep everyone's costs down, and the creation of this technology allows people to react to events in real-time."

The H-COM(SM) mobile system was designed as a connection to the OAS Heat Computer, an industry-leading conservation device for more than three decades, and the foundation of the firm's vision for complete building control. Earlier this year the firm introduced the Heat Computer Online, an Internet-based monitoring system that is wired into a residential building's oil or steam heating Steam heating

The Heat Computer Online allows building owners and managers a customizable, Internet-based location where buildings can be monitored and run more efficiently.

The program is currently available to run on several hundred models of mobile devices.

H-COM: Heat Computer Mobile(SM) syncs with the Heat Computer, which OAS has installed in hundreds of apartment buildings as a way for owners and managers to measure building temperatures and detect heating problems.  with creating products and services that manage buildings' energy use with state of the art efficiency. Energy conservation is the backbone of their product development and services. The firm's engineers and scientists for more than 30 years have developed solutions to reducing the amount of energy consumed in residential and commercial buildings.

H-COM: Heat Computer Mobile(SM) is another step toward offering building managers and owners complete building control, which begins with the Heat Computer. Most residential apartment buildings run heating systems based on only the outside temperature. With the Heat Computer, readings from individual zones throughout a building are monitored to adjust the energy-burn time. Having information from the Heat Computer offers users a choice when to turn the heat on or off, and OAS numbers collected from New York City New York City: see New York, city.

"We control our life from our mobile devices - now we can use it to monitor and control our building's energy usage," CEO Edward Winiarski said. "Building managers and owners will now be able to obtain real-time and secure access to their building's heating system 24 hours a day, from anywhere in the world, giving them complete and uninterrupted control.
