ARCADIA - Swept Overboard not only enhanced his reputation Saturday with a victory over the nation's top-ranked sprinter, he also earned a trip to the Breeders' Cup The Breeders' Cup World Championships is an annual series of Grade I thoroughbred horse races operated by Breeders' Cup Limited, a company formed in 1982 by a consortium of North American racing organizations, led by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association.  World Thoroughbred Championships with his victory in the $200,000 Ancient Title Handicap at Santa Anita.

Swept Overboard swept past 3-5 favorite Kona Gold in the stretch and won the 6-furlong race by 2 1/2 lengths, removing any doubt from trainer Craig Dollase that the 4-year-old deserves a chance to run in the Oct. 27 Breeders' Cup Sprint The Breeders' Cup Sprint is an American Weight for Age Grade I Thoroughbred horse race for three year olds & up. Run on dirt over a distance of 6 Furlongs (3/4 mile), the race has been held annually since 1984 at a different racetrack in the United States or Canada as part of the  at Belmont Park and a likely rematch with defending Sprint champion Kona Gold.

Swept Overboard, the 7-2 second choice, stayed back as long shots Freespool and Forest Camp set a quick early pace. Kona Gold, last year's Ancient Title winner, made his move at the top of the stretch, but Swept Overboard came on strong from the outside and won in 1 minute, 7.67 seconds.

Also, favored Forbidden Apple beat Sarafan by 1 1/2 lengths in the Kelso Handicap, a Breeders' Cup Mile prep.
