Malcolm finished with game highs of 15 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks, while returning an interception 64 yards for a first-quarter score. Not bad for a kid who did not start for the Lions in the first 11 games of the season. ``The coaches told me before the game that if I stayed patient I would get a pick today,'' Malcolm said. ``As soon as I caught the ball, I looked down the field and saw daylight. When I saw that, all I could think about was taking it to the house.'' Malcolm broke two Cardinal Newman tackles on the play, while making it past the final tackler with a stop-and-go move on the 10-yard line. The score put Oaks Christian ahead 13-7 with 2:03 remaining in the firstquarter. Marshall carried the Lions in the second half, scoring from three yards out to put Oaks Christian ahead 20-17 with 5:57 left in the fourth quarter. The Cardinals sent it to overtime with a field goal on the ensuing drive, but Marshall's overtime score proved to be the winner for Oaks Christian. For Marshall, it was the lastgame of his high school career, while Malcolm is expected to emerge as a top recruit in coming years. Many believe Malcolm will take over as Oaks Christian's running back next season. ``Malcolm is a beast,'' said Marshall, who is 27 pounds lighter than his younger brother. ``I had a big game today, but watching Malcolm run that interception back for a touchdown was the greatest thing I've seen in my life. I can't believe he's playing like that as a freshman.'' kevin.connelly@dailynews.com (818) 713-3607 CAPTION(S): photo, box Photo: Oaks Christian's Malcolm Jones, right, celebrates a first-quarter touchdown with teammate Casey Matthews.
