OAKS CHRISTIAN RB TYLER COMMITS TO USC SENIOR-TO-BE, THE NATION'S NO. 3-RATED HIGH SCHOOL PROSPECT AT HIS POSITION, SELECTS TROJANS.

Oaks Christian of Westlake Village running back Marc Tyler Marc Tyler (born September 27, 1988 in Palmdale, California) is an American football running back for the University of Southern California Trojans football team. High school career
Tyler attended Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, California.
 has orally committed to USC An abbreviation for U.S. Code.  and will announce his decision today on TV.

Tyler, one of the top recruits in the area, is scheduled to make his announcement live on ESPNU at 1p.m. He had narrowed his choices to USC and Notre Dame Notre Dame IPA: [nɔtʁ dam] is French for Our Lady, referring to the Virgin Mary. In the United States of America, Notre Dame .

 running back Wendell Tyler Wendell Avery Tyler (born May 20, 1955 in Shreveport, Louisiana), was a former professional American football player who was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the 3rd round of the 1977 NFL Draft. A 5'10", 205 lbs. . Wendell joked Tuesday that he was making one last-ditch effort to get his son to follow in his footsteps and become a Bruin, but the younger Tyler decided on the Trojans.

``I grew up a UCLA fan, and still am,'' Tyler said. ``But I got to high school and had to do what's best for me. USC is where I wanted to go.''

Tyler is rated the No.3 high school running back in the country and the No.22 overall high school prospect by Rivals.com. He has one year remaining at Oaks Christian.

Tyler is good friends with Oaks Christian quarterback Jimmy Clausen James Richard "Jimmy" Clausen (born September 21, 1987, in Thousand Oaks, California[3]) is an American football player. He is a quarterback at the University of Notre Dame. , to the point that he lived with Clausen for much of the past three years in order to be closer to the school. Tyler's father lives in Palmdale.

However, Tyler will not join Clausen at Notre Dame. Clausen committed to the Irish in April.

``I didn't feel as comfortable with the coaches out there as I did at USC,'' Tyler said. ``I just couldn't see myself in South Bend for fouryears. I'm a California kid.''

Tyler said he has been leaning toward USC for about a month. He added that he would try to convince other players to join the Trojans.

Tyler led the Southern Section and was second in the state in scoring last season as a junior. He rushed for 2,196 yards and 39touchdowns on 183 carries, averaging 12.0 yards per run. He also caught 28 passes for 413 yards and three scores.

In his three years at Oaks Christian -- only one as the starter at running back -- he has rushed for 3,773 yards and scored 91 touchdowns. He has a shot at breaking the all-time state record for career touchdowns of 137 next season.

Tyler will make his announcement at the Oaks Christian gym.
