The Oaks Christian of Westlake Village football team is expected to be one of the best in California the next two seasons.

Oaks Christian recently finalized deals to play powerhouses St. Bonaventure of Ventura and Archbishop Moeller of Cincinnati in 2006, ensuring a national-level schedule to go with its nationally recognized roster.

Schnitman and Hansen, who needed three sets to win their quarterfinal match Thursday and advanced to the final with a walkover victory Friday, lost 6-3, 6-2 to Israel's Yael Anais and Oryan Ben Haim in the championship match Sunday at the Jerusalem Tennis Center.

Hansen also won a bronze medal in singles, defeating Ben Haim 6-2, 6-0 in the third-place match. Schnitman, who helped Calabasas win the Southern Section Div. I title last year, reached the quarterfinals of the singles tournament.

La Canada's Edgar Simonyan, the Daily News All-Area Boys' Diver of the Year, finished 29th on the 1-meter springboard and 33rd on the 3-meter board.

--Former Louisville of Woodland Hills girls' volleyball standout Lindsey Benson led the Sports Shack 18-1 club team to the title at the Reno Volleyball Festival.

Benson will play next season at Cal Lutheran.

--Former Cal State Northridge guard Markus Carr, who led the nation with 8.9 assists per game in 2000, is writing home loans in Woodland Hills after playing professionally in Austria and Venezuela.

``It's a different type of lifestyle, in that it's not the adrenaline that you're used to,'' Carr said. ``You're used to having a competitive edge on the court. Now you're competing with yourself and other people in the same field.''
