OAKS CHRISTIAN COMES UP BIG CLAUSEN'S 5 TDS KEY BLOWOUT OAKS CHRISTIAN 54, OAK PARK 20.

Byline: Matthew Kredell Staff Writer

Forget the small-school label. There's nothing small about the way Oaks Christian of Westlake Village is dominating football games this season.

Oaks Christian scored touchdowns on each first-half possession to rout a great small-school Oak Park team 54-20 Friday, proving it belongs on another level.

``We don't see ourselves as a small-school team,'' said Oaks Christian receiver Mark Richardson Mark Richardson may refer to:

Oak Park has been Oaks Christian's greatest nemesis Nemesis (nĕm`ĭsĭs), in Greek religion and mythology, personification of the gods' retribution for violation of sacred law; the avenger. Sometimes she was said to be the goddess of good and ill fortune. . The Eagles defeated Oaks Christian in the regular season last year on the final play of the game before the Lions got their revenge in the Southern Section Div. XI title game.

In anticipation of another classic battle, more people attended the game than are enrolled at the two schools combined. An estimated 2,500 people filled the Oak Park stands on each side of the field and lined the fences in front of them.

Oak Park (3-1, 0-1) had allowed just 10 points in three games this season. But Oaks Christian needed little more than seven minutes to eclipse that.

On the fourth play of the game, Richardson took a short slant pass from Jimmy Clausen James Richard "Jimmy" Clausen (born September 21, 1987, in Thousand Oaks, California[3]) is an American football player. He is a quarterback at the University of Notre Dame.  and split the safeties for a 57-yard touchdown. Oak Park answered with a 49-yard touchdown pass from Sean Sammis to Casey Bage.

Clausen took over from there with three consecutive touchdown passes to Joe Giuliani, the third giving Oaks Christian a 28-7 lead six seconds into the second quarter.

Clausen, the brother of the former Tennessee and Alemany of Mission Hills quarterback Casey, passed for 257 yards and five touchdowns in the first half as Oaks Christian took a 41-13 lead.

``Oak Park was a really good team last year and this year,'' said Clausen, who finished with 331 yards. ``I think this just shows how much we've grown over the past year.''

Giuliani added two second-half interceptions to his three touchdowns.

Oaks Christian overcame its own mistakes.

The Lions had 12 penalties for 125 yards, including three personal fouls as the animosity between the teams showed. However, each time Oaks Christian backed itself up, it gave them more yards to accumulate Accumulate

Oaks Christian's victory, in the Tri-Valley League opener for both teams, is more impressive a week after Oak Park defeated small-school No. 3 Mojave 35-3.
