OAK PARK AND DETROIT FARMER JACK STAFFS REOPEN
TWO NEWLY RENOVATED COMMUNITY FOOD MARKETS TODAY, JUNE 1
Farmer Jack Supermarkets today announced the grand re-opening of the company's two newly renovated community food markets at 21166 Greenfield, north of Eight Mile Road in Oak Park, and 8665 Rosa Parks Boulevard near Virginia Park in Detroit. The stores officially opened at 8 a.m. today. The announcement of the company's two latest renovations was made by Larry G. Zettle, chairman, A&P and Farmer Jack Supermarkets in Michigan.
Farmer Jack recently completed renovation of the 46,000-square-foot Oak Park and 32,000-square-foot Detroit locations, added its signature departments, and is now ready to serve the Oak Park and Detroit communities. Over 30 new jobs will be created for each store. Both Farmer Jack supermarkets will be open seven days a week.
According to Zettle, "We are extremely pleased to continue our growth in a community that has supported us for many, many years. Oak Park and Detroit residents are our family; their people work with us and have helped renovate this facility. They shop with us and have greatly contributed to the national success of our company. It is with great pride that we re-open these two outstanding new food markets dedicated to serving both the Oak Park and Detroit communities."
Both exciting new Farmer Jack community food markets will offer low prices, 28,000 products and introduce these new innovative specialty shops and time-saving services:
-- All-new family deli with a wide selection of lunch meats and cheeses, as well as catering for parties. Plus, for the joy of not cooking, Farmer Jack offers daily heat n' serve entrees.
-- Fast, accurate checkout with all the lanes having scanners for faster checkout. MasterCard, Discover or VISA are accepted on all purchases. Additionally, customers can use their Magic Line Bank Cards to pay for groceries conveniently at the checkout counter.
-- Expanded fresh produce with more than 250 items including exotic fruits and vegetables from around the world, all 100-percent guaranteed for freshness.
-- Customer service counter offering Western Union, carpet-cleaning rental equipment and one-day photo processing including double prints.
-- Expanded frozen foods with full selection of Stouffer, Weight Watchers and Healthy Choice products, all geared to the new health- conscious consumer.
-- Pharmacy with registered pharmacist on duty seven days a week. For the ultimate in convenience, prescriptions will be filled while customers shop (only at Oak Park location).
-- U.S. Post Office to conveniently pay utility bills, purchase postage stamps and money orders, and mail packages.
 -- New bulk food department.
-- Fresh bakery, where everything is baked fresh daily (only at Oak Park location).
