O2Micro Receives Key Inverter Patent for Royer Raptor Product.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. & GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman -- O2Micro(R) International Limited (NASDAQ:OIIM), a leading supplier of innovative power management and security ICs to manufacturers of products for the computer, consumer, industrial, and communications markets, was granted 7 claims under United States patent number 6,856,519 for its Royer Raptor Inverter controller invention.

The patented Royer Raptor uses a multi-tasking pin technique to reduce the overall pin count of the IC and number of external components, while maintaining the functionality and performance of the inverter controller. It is designed for multiple-CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) LCD Monitor and LCD TV applications.
