O-ring measurement.

Usually used to measure large gaskets, Migg is said to be a powerful instrument for the non-contact automatic measurement of circular gaskets such as o-rings, washers and simple rings of any kind of material. The internal and external diameter and chord are said to be rapidly measured with high precision and excellent repeatability, according to the manufacturer. The machine carries out the measurement of the o-ring by reading the points of the paws perimeter (for a maximum of 1,400 points). Its possible deformation is said to therefore be calculated with mathematic precision and no margin for errors. The part to be inspected is placed nearly in the center of the rotating glass table, which has some concentric tings marked on its surface. After five seconds of table rotation, the computer elaborates the detected data and displays on the screen the result of the measurement. The data are automatically stored in tables which can be printed. Migg is said to be equipped with innovative software which, starting from the data received by the measurement, elaborates statistical analysis, calculates the maximum and the minimum value, Cpk. These data are saved in the interface PC and may be called up at any time for future evaluations, calculations and comparisons. (Doss)
