O(2) Germany Chooses Spirent(R) Communications' SwissQual for Standardizing Drive Testing and Benchmarking Operations.

SwissQual's Diversity System Assures Quality of User Experience for Voice, Data and Video Wireless Communications

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Spirent Communications (NYSE NYSE

See: New York Stock Exchange
:SPM SPM - Sequential Parlog Machine ) (LSE LSE - Language Sensitive Editor :SPT (Sectors Per Track) The number of sectors in one track. ) announced today that O2 Germany, a leading provider of mobile services, has chosen SwissQual's new high-end Diversity platform to meet their GSM/UMTS & HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) See HSPA.  wireless benchmarking needs. The contract marks a significant step in Spirent's growth in the wireless market and signals O2 Germany's commitment to providing best-in-class customer experience throughout all four of its service regions. The Diversity contract enables O2 to standardize on SwissQual equipment as part of a harmonization project to streamline the number of different vendors for this type of equipment

Diversity is a powerful platform that allows network operators to continuously test the quality of service, as well as benchmark their network's performance against those of their competitors. Unlike other platforms, Diversity provides simultaneous, end-to-end testing for voice, data and video, a unique feature that makes drive testing easier and more cost effective for network operators

Diversity offers a highly scalable drive test solution that meets the demands for network benchmarking today - and in the future. Diversity enables flexible test configurations and scheduling and uses sophisticated data analysis and reporting tools to provide critical information about problems within a network before customers experience them.

"Benchmarking our network is critical to ensuring customer satisfaction," said Karl-Wilhelm Rohrsen, Managing Director, O2 Germany. "We selected Diversity as a result of our extensive trials and our past experience with SwissQual. Diversity meets our benchmarking demands today, and provides a platform for future growth."

"We appreciate the opportunity to build upon our relationship with O2 and to provide quality benchmarking systems," said Tomas Ahnebrink, Vice President of SwissQual, which was acquired by Spirent Communications in January of 2006. "This announcement demonstrates our belief that benchmarking has a direct impact on the quality of experience for wireless customers. We are pleased to support O2 in their commitment to delivering the highest quality voice, data and video services."
