O'Donnell & Tuomey: housing, Dublin, Ireland. The historic Liberties area of Dublin is largely residential in character with significant nineteenth-century industrial developments within or behind the street edge of Georgian houses. O'Donnell & Tuomey's project for 45 social housing units and a community building aims to repair a small corner of this historic area where a new road cuts through the existing fabric. The aim is to create a residential enclave enclave /en·clave/ (en´klav) tissue detached from its normal connection and enclosed within another organ. en·clave n. A detached mass of tissue enclosed in tissue of another kind. with a sense of place, while also providing a south-facing edge to busy Cork Street Cork Street is a street in Mayfair in the West End of London, England. New parts vary from three storeys to six storeys in height. The two six-storey elements at the Cork Street side act as anchoring bookends to the ensemble and relate to the scale of a new building currently under construction on the neighbouring site. New elements will be in brick, with hardwood hardwood: see wood. hardwood Timber obtained from broad-leaved, flower-bearing trees.
