With headquarters in Newport Beach, Nurescell has developed a proprietary radiation shielding material for the nuclear power industry and other industries involved in producing, handling, or storing radioactive materials.
Nurescell's material has been designed for retrofit into radioactive areas to provide a cost-effective, long-life safeguard against the lethal effects of radiation exposure for operating personnel and engineers.
The company's material is designed as an effective alternative to conventional radiation blockers such as concrete/steel, lead entombment and glassification technologies, which are used in the storage of ever-increasing amounts of spent nuclear fuel Spent nuclear fuel, occasionally called used nuclear fuel, is nuclear fuel that has been irradiated in a nuclear reactor (usually at a nuclear power plant) to the point where it is no longer useful in sustaining a nuclear reaction. and other radioactive wastes.
Nurescell's material is based upon a proprietary formulation that was acquired in June 1998 from Joseph.
