Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation, also known as the Three Affiliated Tribes, are a Native American group comprising a union of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara peoples, whose native lands ranged across the Missouri River basin in the Dakotas.  in North Dakota North Dakota, state in the N central United States. It is bordered by Minnesota, across the Red River of the North (E), South Dakota (S), Montana (W), and the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba (N).  

On June 20, two military veterans and a Roman Catholic priest did a plowshares protest at a nuclear missile silo A missile silo is an underground vertical cylindrical container for the storage and launching of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). They typically have the missile some distance under the surface, protected by a large "blast door" on top.  in North Dakota. The peace activists painted "disarm" on the face of the 110-ton hardened silo cover and poured their blood on the missile lid.  sheriffs arrested the three and charged them with criminal trespass and criminal mischief.
