Novo Nordisk acquires enzyme patents and know-how from Showa Denko.


BAGSVAERD, Denmark; TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 1996--Novo Nordisk and Showa Denko Showa Denko K. K. (昭和電工株式会社   today announced that Novo Nordisk will acquire Showa Denko's patents and know-how related to industrial enzymes in connection with Showa Denko's decision to terminate activities in this field.

"This deal will improve Novo Nordisk's position within some of our core enzyme technologies," says Steen Riisgaard, corporate executive vice president of Enzyme Business, Novo Nordisk.
