Novell launches SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 Service Pack 3.
Enterprise software company Novell (Nasdaq:NOVL NOVL Novell, Inc. (stock abbreviation, AMEX) ) announced on Wednesday the availability of SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 Service Pack 3.
According to the company, the latest Service Pack includes three products. SUSE Linux Enterprise Server SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) is a Linux distribution supplied by Novell, targeted at the business market. It is targeted for servers, but can be installed on Desktop computers for testing as well. New versions are released at an interval of 18-24 months. 10 Service Pack 3 supports the latest server, storage and networking hardware and includes features for extending high-speed fabrics, virtual services and systems administration.
In addition, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED), formerly Novell Linux Desktop, is a desktop-oriented Linux distribution supplied by Novell and targeted at the business market. 10 Service Pack 3 includes updated drivers to support the latest hardware and peripherals, as well as updated Firefox browser and Novell GroupWise collaboration software, while a Software Development Kit includes tool updates that give developers more ways to create new software.
Finally, the Service Pack includes a Software Development Kit, which includes tool updates to give developers and technical enthusiasts further ways to create powerful new software.
