Novastar Resources to Explore Other Anomalies on Thorium Property; Recent Drill Log Results Found Potential for Vast Reserves of Recoverable Thorium From One Anomaly.

NEW YORK -- Novastar Resources Ltd. (OTCBB:NVAS), a significant commercial mining source of Thorium, a naturally occurring nuclear energy more efficient and far less radioactive than Uranium, has announced plans to commence drilling to explore six additional anomalies within the Company's Australian Thorium (Th) property. Specific commencement dates will be forthcoming.

"We now have a more appropriate geological model on which to base our interpretation of our Thorium property. The previous drill log results provided us with much needed geological information that we have used to refine and improve our short and long-term business goals," said Paul Carter, president, Novastar Resources. "The next drilling program should be quite definitive in assessing the amount of recoverable material contained within our Thorium property and therefore are looking forward to the upcoming drilling program with much interest."

Novastar resources recently made public, results from a previous exploration. The drill results were obtained by Getty Oil Development Co. ("Getty") and confirmed by a third party, Warman Ltd., a major Australian Rare Earth Minerals laboratory. The samplings (Anomalous Bands) from which the results were derived, was extensive in nature, varying in depths and locations throughout the anomaly, the first ranging from the surface to 10 meters beneath in depth, the second ranging from 10.1 meters to 21 meters beneath the surface.

The concentration of Monazite is reliably assessed. The mineral Monazite contains between 3% to 9% Thorium Oxide (ThO2) along with rare-earth minerals. All commercial grade pure Thorium metal is recovered from the mineral Monazite. The mean Thorium concentration throughout the first anomaly explored is calculated as 409 parts per million or 0.0409% by composition. The final analysis concluded that there is estimated to be 13 to 14 oz of Thorium per each metric ton of recoverable material. The Company has an estimated tonnage of recoverable material of 900,000 metric tons. Pure (.998) or (.999) Thorium metal commands a current market price is approximately $150 per oz.

There is increasing interest in utilizing Thorium as a nuclear fuel because Thorium is a more efficient nuclear fuel and far less radioactive than Uranium. Also, all of the mined thorium is potentially useable in a reactor, compared with the 0.7% of natural uranium, so some 40 times the amount of energy per unit mass might be available. Therefore, the thorium fuel cycle, with its potential for breeding fuel without the need for fast-neutron reactors, holds considerable potential long-term. It is a key factor in the sustainability of nuclear energy.
