The agent is currently available for the treatment of bone metastasis metastasis /me·tas·ta·sis/ (me-tas´tah-sis) pl. metas´tases 1. transfer of disease from one organ or part of the body to another not directly connected with it, due either to transfer of pathogenic microorganisms or to in multiple myeloma multiple myeloma A malignant proliferation of abnormal plasma cells that populate the marrow-containing bones of the body. Zometa, a bisphosphonate agent, is currently available in over 90 countries worldwide. This is the first agent for bone lesion in MM and solid tumor that has been approved in Japan.
