NovaStor Corp. announces NovaXchange for Windows 95 and Windows NT.

NovaXchange for Windows 95/NT, is the latest in a line of NovaStor's powerful range of data interchange software utilities. NovaStor's TPU TPU - Text Processing Utility  (Tape Processing Utility) and DCU DCU Dublin City University

DCU Device Configuration Utility
(Data Conversion Utility) for DOS and OS/2, have long set the standard for companies that are expanding or moving data to client/server environments and wish to interchange or convert their archival information and databases from their IBM mainframe computers.

With the release of NovaXchange for Windows 95/NT, these two utilities have been considerably enhanced and combined into a single package that runs on Windows 95 and Windows NT versions 3.51 and 4.0.

NovaXchange includes powerful tape handling and data management software utilities for the WIN95/NT workstation, with the ability to transfer and manage all types of data and all kinds of SCSI SCSI
in full Small Computer System Interface

Once common standard for connecting peripheral devices (disks, modems, printers, etc.) to small and medium-sized computers. SCSI has given way to faster standards, such as Firewire and USB.
tape drives between operating systems and different architectures. NovaXchange reads and writes various formats including Fixed Length, IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  or ANSII variable length and even undefined tape record formats. NovaXchange also reads and writes IBM or ANSI (American National Standards Institute, New York, www.ansi.org) A membership organization founded in 1918 that coordinates the development of U.S. voluntary national standards in both the private and public sectors. It is the U.S. member body to ISO and IEC.  Labeled or Unlabeled tapes, translates EBCDIC (Extended Binary Coded Decimal Interchange Code) Pronounced "eb-suh-dick." The binary code for text as well as communications and printer control from IBM.  to ASCII ASCII or American Standard Code for Information Interchange, a set of codes used to represent letters, numbers, a few symbols, and control characters. Originally designed for teletype operations, it has found wide application in computers.  and ASCII to EBCDIC. With NovaXchange, there are few if any limits for users to manipulate and interchange their data.

Today's storage technology has insured that more and more data can be written to an incredible number of different devices. This becomes of special importance when companies move to the client/server paradigm. When there is a need for converting mainframe tapes to the smaller and more manageable 4m, 8mm, etc. formats available today, this data must run on the latest PC operating systems. NovaXchange accomplishes this task with ease.

Not only will it read all IBM mainframe tapes, but will automatically convert and write these tapes to Windows 95 or Windows NT 3.51 or 4.0 files formats. NovaXchange can also translate fields from such formats as ASCII, binary, packed decimal and zoned decimal (EBCDIC). Another exciting feature of NovaXchange is its unique ability to select data from tape, disk or optical disk on a field-by- field basis while performing a data conversion. Thus NovaXchange can customize any database output file for customer requested information in a "real-time mode" and output to a variety of mediums including disk, optical disk or tape.
