NovaStor Corp. announces NovaTar for Windows NT; a 32 bit high performance utility for converting UNIX TAR tape formats on Windows NT and 95.


SIMI VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 1996--NovaStor Corp. announces the addition of NovaTar for Windows NT, to its range of data interchange utilities.

NovaTar for Windows NT is a full 32 bit conversion utility, that gives users the ability to quickly and simply migrate UNIX UNIX

Operating system for digital computers, developed by Ken Thompson of Bell Laboratories in 1969. It was initially designed for a single user (the name was a pun on the earlier operating system Multics).

To convert tapes with database, graphic and text files, between the UNIX TAR format and the Windows NT or 95 format or from Windows NT and 95 format back to UNIX TAR is as simple as copying a tape. Support is also included for multiple sessions per tape. NovaTar for Windows NT offers Windows 95 and NT users a powerful tool to read and write TAR, CPIO CPIO Copy In and Out (a Unix utility)

For the Apple market, NovaStor offers QuTape for Macintosh a tape and disk handling and management utility; QuVMS a utility that reads and writes DEC VMS format on the Mac and QuTar that reads and writes UNIX TAR format on the Mac.
