Nova Scotia-based Businesses Partner to Entice New England Group Meetings to Province.

HALIFAX, June 7 /CNW-PRN/ - Air Nova, Air Canada's regional partner in Eastern Canada, and Ledgehill, The Corporate Learning Centre based in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia have formed a partnership to lure New England conference business to Nova Scotia.

``There are hundreds of executive groups from the northeastern United States going to central Canada in search of meeting facilities,'' states Brad Smith, Vice President Sales and Marketing for Ledgehill. ``We know Ledgehill can offer this market the private, exclusive atmosphere it's seeking. We are confident we can attract a portion of this business to Ledgehill over the next few years.''

Ledgehill and Air Nova will be working together to bring approximately 24 businesses per year, with an average group size of 20 participants. While seeming modest, ``meeting this goal alone would generate in excess of $600,000CDN in new revenue to the partnership and the province,'' adds Smith.

Rick Flynn, Air Nova's Vice President, Marketing, sees the link with Ledgehill as another opportunity to make the most of the airline's newly increased flights on the Boston/Halifax route. ``Air Nova currently offers 10 daily flights between Boston and Halifax and in the summer that number grows to 12. By offering the most flights on the route, Air Nova's schedule allows businesses to leave Boston's Logan Airport and be on Ledgehill's premises in less than four hours. That's both a time and money saver for businesses who are now traveling to other parts of Canada for conference retreats. Air Nova is very pleased to be the official airline of Ledgehill.''

On an immediate basis, Ledgehill and Air Nova plan to entice New England businesses here by providing them with special airfare and meeting packages from Boston to Halifax, in one all inclusive, easy to book program.

Ledgehill is one of the leading human resource facilities in Canada, designed exclusively for organizations and groups seeking a stimulating, dedicated learning environment.

Air Nova is Eastern Canada's leading regional airline, offering service to/from 29 destinations throughout Atlantic Canada and Quebec, as well as Ottawa; Boston; New York; Hartford, Connecticut; and, Portland, Maine.
