History The museum was founded in 1897 by art historian George Fisk Comfort (who also helped found the Metropolitan Museum of Art); at that time, it announces the upcoming call for entries for the 2004 Everson Biennial exhibition, entitled Double Take. Double Take will explore several themes found in art including irony, humor, mystery, and the unexpected: the realization that things are not always as they appear.
