Norwegian Newspaper Publisher A-Pressen Selects Juniper Networks to Accelerate Mission-Critical Applications; WX Application Acceleration Platforms Deliver +Six Bandwidth Optimization Factor on Branch Server Centralization Project.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:JNPR) today announced that A-Pressen, a leading newspaper publisher in Norway, has deployed its WX application acceleration platforms to improve the performance of key applications for some remote office locations. The deployment has been completed with Juniper's local channel partner, Inventium.

A-Pressen publishes 51 local newspapers throughout Norway distributing the printing function between 11 different locations. Previously the company had deployed servers on local area networks (LANs) in branch offices to deliver the best possible performance for data protocols including CIFS, HTTP, Exchange, and ICA. However, the server environment is now centralized in Lillestrom.

To eliminate data replication and cost overhead issues, A-Pressen has deployed Juniper Networks WX platforms at multiple locations to establish a centralized data server model operating across the wide area network (WAN) while delivering LAN-like application performance.
