(Division News).The East Central Division (ECD ECD Early Childhood Development ECD Electron Capture Detector ECD Energy Citations Database ECD Executive Creative Director (advertising) ECD Ethyl Cysteinate Dimer ECD Electron Capture Dissociation ECD Electronic Civil Disobedience ) Competitions will be held at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, January 19-21, 2003. We appreciate the efforts of Laura Melton, division competitions chair, and Ronald Yadeau, NCTM NCTM National Council of Teachers of Mathematics NCTM Nationally Certified Teacher of Music NCTM North Carolina Transportation Museum NCTM National Capital Trolley Museum NCTM Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage , a past division president, who is hosting the competitions. Each of the five states in the ECD are very active with excellent leadership. Their programs run the gamut from conventions, foundations, student testing and competition programs to collegiate chapters. Indiana, under the very capable leadership of Julianne Miranda, NCTM, received the 2002 MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National Association MTNA Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (McMinnville, Tennessee) State Affiliate of the Year Award, and Annette Conklin, NCTM, a long-time member of Indiana MTA (IMTA IMTA Instituto Mexicano de Tecnología del Agua (Mexico) IMTA International Map Trade Association iMTA Institute for Medical Technology Assessment IMTA International Modeling and Talent Association IMTA Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture ), currently chairs the MTNA FOUNDATION Board of Trustees board of trustees Politics The posse of thugs who oversee an institution's administration. See Board of directors. and was honored as a FOUNDATION Fellow. Mavorette Flummerfelt, NCTM, an Indiana member since 1952, was honored as a fifty-year member. IMTA sponsors composer commissioning, ensemble concerts and Hoosier Auditions. They publish a directory of "Early Childhood Teachers" and recently published "Tips of the Trade."
