Northwest Division.Alaska MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National Association MTNA Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (McMinnville, Tennessee) held its spring adjudications May 6-18, 2006, in Sitka, Fairbanks and Anchorage. Kenneth Christensen, Northwest Division director, was the invited adjudicator along with being the judge for the Marguerite Downey Memorial Piano Competition. The competition was sponsored by the Anchorage Keyboard Teachers Association and the Department of Music at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. Oregon MTNA held its state conference July 12-13, 2006, in Portland. Pianists Jeffrey Kahane and Jon Kimura Parker Jon Kimura Parker (born 25 December 1959) is a Canadian pianist. He was born in Vancouver, Canada. He appeared with the Vancouver Youth Orchestra when he was five. He later studied at The Juilliard School of music under Adele Marcus. presented a duo-piano recital at the conclusion of the conference.
