) today announced that John Bowers has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. In addition, Amy Peterson has joined the senior management team as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Regulatory Affairs (RA), also called Government Affairs, is a profession within regulated industries, such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, energy, and banking. Regulatory Affairs professionals usually have responsibility for the following general areas:
 and Quality Assurance. Collectively, Bowers and Peterson have more than 40 years of management expertise in the healthcare industry.

At Northstar, Bowers had served as Executive Vice President since December 2005, and prior to that was Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. Before joining Northstar, Bowers served in a number of leadership roles at Guidant Corporation and Eli Lilly Eli Lilly can refer to:
