Northrop Grumman. (News).
Northrop Grumman in Pascagoula is to build no less than four
additional DDG-51-class Aegis missile destroyers under a $1.9 billion
contract awarded on 16 September by the US Navy. The contract is part of
a multiple-year procurement plan under which the Navy is awarding
several ships under a single contract. This will bring the total number
of ships built under that programme to 60 - of which 28 will have been
built by Northrop Grumman's Ingalls division and the remainder by
General Dynamics in Bath.
