Northrop Grumman's Gold Team has been selected to complete the system design for the US Navy's advanced 21st century surface combatant, the DD(X). The Ship Systems sector of Northrop Grumman will lead the overall system design, engineering prototype development and testing of the vessel under this $265 million contract award, and Raytheon will lead the DD(X) ship systems integration under a separate $1.36 billion cost plus award fee contract over the next three years.
